About
Clover Park Technical College has an ultramodern School of Aerospace and Aviation offers several aviation certificates and degrees. Clover Park’s aviation classes are held at the college’s South Hill campus adjacent to the Pierce County Airport.
If you dream of an airborne aviation career, you can opt for pilot certification. If you prefer technical ground-based activity, you can choose aviation support career training, like aircraft component manufacturing, aircraft repair and maintenance, avionics (airplane electrical systems) maintenance, and aviation operations management.
Clover Park’s popular Professional Pilot-AAT/AAS-T offers an associate degree program that takes students through the coursework and air-time training to get certified as Personal Pilot continuing to Commercial Pilot certification. These approximately 2-year programs include general college education and computer literacy requirements.
After FAA Certification, graduates are ready for Flight Instructor jobs and can move into corporate and charter flying, eventually qualifying for commercial or commuter airline employment. Clover Park’s technical programs in aviation support and maintenance take 1.5-2 years to complete. Students graduate with the skills to pass the required FAA Certification or an associate degree that fulfills computer literacy and college academic coursework requirements.
Aviation support and maintenance certifications can take from half a year (avionics certification) to 2 years (Associate Degree in Aircraft Maintenance). Clover Park Technical College has a financial office that helps students fund their education through grants, scholarships, and employment.
